Inside Beauty effects Outside Beauty

Little Things that make you feel beautiful!

Today, I had the opportunity to meet up with one of my friends after my nail appointment and let me tell you, it is so important to give your self-care. I went to get my nails done before I met with my friend and it was so refreshing to relax for 1 hour and do some pampering for yourself. When I feel great on the inside, I have a better attitude, at peace with myself, even more, thankful to GOD. It is just wonderful!

It gives me some time to relax and clear my head.

Sun. Warm weather. Laughs. Good Company.

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

I Peter 3:3-4

Why wearing the UV sunglasses is critical to your eye health?

Summertime is here although we enjoy hanging out at the beach, sun tanning and enjoying the warm weather, it is critical that you keep yourself protected from  Ultraviolet (UV) Radiation.

Taking from someone who recently had eye surgery to treat my keratoconus disease, it is extremely important to keep any harm away from my eyes. Your vision is extremely important and is often taken for granted.

According to the article, Ultraviolet (UV) Radiation And Your Eyes from All About Vision from Dr. Gary Heiting, OD, “To protect your eyes from harmful solar radiation, sunglasses should block 100 percent of UV rays and also absorb most HEV rays… Wearing sunglasses protects these delicate tissues and the skin around your eyes from UV damage.”

Dr Gary Heiting, OD also reference the importance of wear UV protected sunglasses especially during certain times of the day. Also it is important to wear your sunglasses even in the shade and if you have dark color skin.

Dr. Gary Heiting, OD also put the focus on the time of day you should make sure that you wear your glasses, “Time of day. UV and HEV levels are greater when the sun is high in the sky, typically from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.”

“Remember to wear sunglasses even when you’re in the shade. Although shade reduces your UV and HEV exposure to some degree, your eyes still will be exposed to UV rays reflected from buildings, roadways and other surfaces.” Dr. Gary Heiting put more emphasis on the importance of wearing sunglasses.

So we can see how important it is to get the correct 100% UV protection sunglasses to protect the tissue around your eye and get on the path of good eye health.

Be Focus

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of GOD. Set your mind on things above, not on the things that are on earth.

Colossians 3:1-2

Whatever you do, do your work heartily as for the Lord rather than for men. knowing that from the Lord you will recevie the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

Colossians 3:23-24

DIY Chapstick

Around the holidays, I was trying to figure out what would be a meanful gift I can give to my family and friends without spending too much money and save on time.  As a DIY Educator and a huge chapstick fan, I thought to myself, I can just make my own chapstick. Luckly I was able to found a DIY Chapstick with five easy steps.

All you need is these Simple Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons shea butter or cocoa butter (or blend of both)
  • 2 tablespoon virgin coconut oil
  • 3 tablespoons beeswax, pastilles or shredded
  • I recommend  using a 1 tsp pure vanilla extract or peppermint extract. I tried to use the frozen dried strawberries but after a few weeks, they became to mold. So just stick to the vanilla or peppermint extract. At least you know what you are putting on your lips.
  • Vitamin E oil

Step #1 Mix the cocoa butter, beeswax, vanilla extract  and coconut oil into a glass bowl.

Step #2 Place all ingredients into a saucepan with 1/2 of cup of water  with the glass bowl inside the saucepan over warm over medium-low heat. Leave to melt (this will take about 20 minutes). Stir occasionally.

Please note, the reason for the red color is because I use dried frozen strawberries which within a few weeks turned to molded. I would hightly recommend just using vanilla and peppermint extract or your favorite essential oil.

Once the cocoa butter, beeswax, and coconut oil have melted, turn off the heat and allow to cool for a few minutes.  Remove the saucepan away from the hot surface. Add about 6 drops to the glass bowl.

PLEASE be very careful! You are handling HOT oil. Do not leave any of the pots or other items with the hot ingredients near the edge of counters or stoves.

Step #3  Also be sure to work on a stable surface.
Leave lip balm to cool on the counter for a few mintues. The chapstick mix will began to turn from liquid to solid. If this happens, it is totally fine! 🙂

Step #4 Use your fingers, spoon, toothpick to put the chapstick mix in small tubes. I ordered my chapstick tubes from Amazon.

All Done! My chapsticks are also available for purchase on my etsy page or if would like me to make chapsticks as a gift for your wedding, events, or parties, please contact me here.

For more information on how you can make other DIY beauty products, please check out my etsy page.

It is not what you say but how you say it…

10% of Conflicts are due to difference in opinion.

90% are due to wrong tone of voice.

I have learned from expereince, it is not what you say but how you say it. If you want to get your point across always do it in a gentle but straightforward way. You want to be starightforward with others and if you want to the best results from other to work with you and not against you, there must be some balanced between being gentle and kind but holding people accountable.
